The department of hospitality science of the Yenepoya Institute of Arts Science Commerce & Management (YIASCM), Mangalore, hosted a wonderful cake fruit mixing ceremony today.
The event started off with welcoming the chief guest, Mr. Manukumar, General Manager of Hotel Ocean Pearl resort in Chikmagalur, Dr. Arun A Bhagwath, Principal and Dean faculty of Science, Dr. Shareena P, Vice Principal and Dean faculty of commerce and management, Mr. Narayan Sukumar A, Vice Principal & Mr.Mervin Jaison Vas, Head of Department of Hospitality Science.
A very energetic and enthusiastic group of children from the Nazareth school, Balmatta, to participate in it. A surprise visit from Santa Claus with his bag of candies was just the cherry on the cake. The excited children were then handed over their gloves, aprons and chef hats in preparation to dig into the dry fruits, raisins and nuts and complete the cake mixing event. They were then escorted to the bakery and confectionery lab to bake some cookies and garnish some muffins. Such delight! The guest of Honour, Sr. Marceline Dsouza, principal of the Nazareth school and her team accompanied the students.
Mangalore's favourite baker Mariam from Bakers Treat led the team of students and ignited so much eagerness and curiosity into them while showing them the art of baking cookies. She also spoke about the new one month value added certificate course called Perfection opened to all. It offers, etiquette mastery, grooming excellence, communication prowess, social skills, event planning and so much more.
The event ended with distributing certificates of appreciation to each student along with take away stationary kits for all.
