The Nazareth School in Balmatta, Mangaluru, hosted its annual Investiture Ceremony on the 15th of June, 2024, a significant event marking the official delegation of responsibilities to the newly elected student council. The ceremony commenced at 8.30 A.M in the school premises.
The school's principal, Sr. Marceline Dsouza, attended along with the enthusiastic student council members.
The ceremony began with a prayer song and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the ushering in of wisdom. The school choir then performed a melodious rendition of the school anthem, filling the hall with a sense of pride and unity.
Following the opening acts, Sr. Marceline Dsouza delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of leadership and the responsibilities that come with it. She emphasized the values of integrity, dedication, and teamwork that the student council is expected to uphold.
The highlight of the event was the formal induction of the student council members. The newly elected Head Boy, Adwaith N, and Head Girl, Krithi R Shetty, along with their team of prefects, were called upon the stage. Each member took an oath, pledging to uphold the values and rules of the school and to serve their peers with diligence and honor. The badges and sashes, symbols of their office, were conferred upon them by the principal.
The Head Boy and Head Girl then gave their acceptance speeches, expressing their gratitude for the trust placed in them and their commitment to fulfilling their duties to the best of their abilities. They outlined their goals for the upcoming academic year, focusing on fostering a spirit of cooperation and enhancing the overall school environment.
The event compared by Gavin Nazareth and it is concluded with a vote of thanks by Izan Arshad Abdulla, followed by the national anthem. The ceremony was a resounding success, leaving the audience with a sense of optimism and enthusiasm for the future endeavors of the student council.
