The Democracy Day celebration at Nazareth School, Balmatta, was marked with great enthusiasm and a sense of patriotic spirit. The event began at 8.30a.m in the school premises, with students and staff actively participating in the program organized to democratic values and the importance of active citizenship.

Prayer Song:

The event commenced with a melodious prayer song sung by the school choir, invoking blessings and unity among all participants. The prayer song set a peaceful and reflective tone for the day's events.

Welcome Address:

The welcome address was delivered by Reeva velani Crasta who warmly greeted all the dignitaries, staff, and students present for the celebration. The speaker emphasized the significance of Democracy Day, acknowledging the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and the responsibility we all bear as citizens of a democratic nation.

Importance of the Day:

To enlighten the audience about the relevance of the day, Rosanne Ferrao spoke on the importance of Democracy Day, reflecting on the values of freedom, equality, and justice that form the foundation of our country's democracy. The speaker also emphasized the role of students as future leaders and their duty to uphold the principles of democracy in their daily lives.

Vote of Thanks:

Following the speech, the vote of thanks was proposed by Thrisha Rai expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the celebration. The speaker thanked the management, teachers, students, and participants for their dedication and cooperation in making the event memorable.

National Anthem:     

The program concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, fostering a sense of national pride and unity among all present.

Human Chain on the Highway:

As a special initiative to mark the occasion, students and staff of Nazareth School formed a human chain along the Sahyadri Highway to promote unity and the democratic spirit. This symbolic gesture was a powerful reminder of the strength of collective action and the importance of standing together as a nation.
