On October 22, 2024, the students of grades 3 to 5 embarked on a much-anticipated picnic to Pilikula Nisargadhama, the Science Center, and Manasa Amusement Park, located on the outskirts of Mangaluru. This educational and recreational outing was designed to provide students with a blend of learning experiences and enjoyable moments, fostering curiosity and strengthening bonds with their peers.

Journey and Arrival

The journey began early in the morning with the students brimming with excitement as they boarded the buses from school. They arrived at Pilikula Nisargadhama, welcomed by the lush greenery and tranquil environment of the eco-education and tourism destination.

Exploration at the Science Center

The first stop was the Pilikula Regional Science Center. Here, students explored various interactive exhibits that demonstrated scientific principles and phenomena. Highlights included displays on space, renewable energy, and physics experiments, which kept the students engaged and stimulated their curiosity. The hands-on exhibits provided them with an opportunity to understand scientific concepts in a practical and interactive manner. Teachers and staff guided students through the exhibits, answering questions and encouraging deeper engagement with the content.

Visit to the Pilikula Biological Park

After the Science Center, the students visited the Pilikula Biological Park, which houses a wide variety of flora and fauna native to the region. Students were fascinated by the range of animals, including tigers, deer, reptiles, and various species of birds. This experience allowed them to appreciate biodiversity and develop a sense of respect for wildlife conservation.

Fun at Manasa Amusement Park

The day concluded with a visit to Manasa Amusement Park, where students enjoyed several rides under the supervision of teachers. They delighted in the merry-go-rounds, swings, and other age-appropriate rides, with laughter and cheer filling the air. The amusement park provided a wonderful opportunity for students to unwind and enjoy themselves, creating memorable experiences with their friends.

Conclusion

The picnic to Pilikula Nisargadhama was an enriching experience that combined education with entertainment, broadening students’ understanding of science, nature, and wildlife.
