Kanakadasa was a great musician of Karnataka. He was born in the year 1509. He joined the Haridasa tradition and was renamed Kanakadasa by his spiritual guru Vyasaraja.
Nazareth School celebrated Kanaka Jayanthi on 11-11-2022 in order to commemorate the birth anniversary of Kanakadasa. The programme began with a prayer song. The dignitaries on the Dais –School Principal Rev. Sr. Marceline Dsouza lit the lamp with a great vigour and prayerful manner. Pragya of grade 5th B welcomed the gathering with her inspiring and delighted words. Sindhoora Holla of grade 8 delivered a brief speech. Flowers were offered to the portrait of Kanakadasa as a sign of commemoration of the day. Our school students enacted a beautiful drama on the life of Kanakadasa. Our school choir group sang a beautiful poem which is composed on the life of Kanakadasa, which was very melodious and inspiring.
Thansi of Grade 9 expressed a word of gratitude by thanking each and every participant for their contribution in order to inculcate the values of Kanakadasa. Programme was ended with the National Anthem.
