National Constitution Day was celebrated at Nazareth School, Balmatta, Mangaluru on 26th November 2022 to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution. To reiterate the values enshrined in the Constitution, the students and the fraternity joined in the reading of the Preamble to the Constitution from their respective class sessions. The entire school reaffirmed its commitment to the Indian Constitution by taking the pledge on the school Assembly platform.

The Students of the Grade 9th took the entire Nazareth fraternity on a journey of the framing of the Indian constitution from its history to its present –day form; and its vital role in bringing together an idea called "India”.

A special prayer service was conducted by lighting the lamp. The importance of the day was explained in detail, the meaning of the Constitution, the Preamble, and the Directive Principles.

The students of the senior Grade were engaged in various activities like role play, speech of famous Indian leaders who helped to build our Indian Constitution and a quiz on the Indian constitution to highlight and reiterate the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution.

The Principal, Rev Sr. Marceline DSouza, encouraged the students to abide by the Constitution. Quoting Dr. Ambedkar, “We are Indians, firstly and lastly.” Sister motivated the students to reaffirm their commitment to upload the ideology laid down in the Indian Constitution.

The day ended with students' active participation in a writing activity where they had to pen down their thoughts on the constitutional values and the principles of the Indian Constitution.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Sonal Mary DSouza Grade 8th B. The function was convened by Krithi R Shetty of Grade 8th B. The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Shalma Lobo, Mrs. Precilla Veigas and Mrs. Veena Rao. The Constitutional day programme concluded with the National Anthem.
