Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated on 2nd October (Monday), in Nazareth School Balmatta, Mangaluru. All the faculty assembled for the morning assembly, It began with a prayer.

Gandhiji’s portrait was decorated and garlanded by the School In-Charge staff and all the staff faculty gave floral tribute.

Miss.Teena gave an introduction on the importance of the day and read the reading from the Holy Bible followed by reflection. Mrs. Preethi K read the passage from the Bhagavadgeeta with message. The teachers song a prayer song to pay respect to the works of Gandhiji towards the nation.

Finally Rev.Sr.Marceline Dsouza, the Principal presented a speech on the importance and emphasized the underlying value on the Gandhian philosophies and nations.She encouraged of all of us to walk in the light of Ahimsa and non-violence.

Hence, we must strive and thrive to follow the thoughts and ideologies of the persons the thoughts for the freedom and independence of the country.

The programme ended National Anthem.
